Along with the course study, Highwood Missionary College follows the workstudy principle of Seventh-day Adventist education. Work Education in organic agriculture, health treatments, food service, and buildings and grounds maintenance are an integral part of the course.

Also included in the below titles are practical experiences in health and Bible seminar presentation, groundwork, and follow-up work in health and Bible work. We are also using seminars such as gardening, and natural remedies, to broaden the amount of people that will be reached by these methods. Course Description

Our course will be divided into fourteen areas of study

    • Principles of Faith (13 weeks)

Provides a solid grounding in all the main doctrines of the Bible, in relation to the times we are living in, and the preparation necessary to finish the work God has given us to do. With emphasis on the plan of redemption, as viewed through the cross of Christ and His ministry in the Heavenly Sanctuary, this set of modules will repeat old truths in a new and living way.

    • Prophecy (13 weeks)

A comprehensive coverage of Daniel and Revelation with particular emphasis on our position in Bible history and prophecy. The fourth angel's message will be given strong emphasis, along with the ministry of the Holy Spirit and the character needed for the message to do its work.
    • History of the Christian Church (4 weeks)

Establishes confidence in Christ's divine/supreme love/authority during the Christian era, through preservation and growth of His church and His doctrines, and through the fulfilment of numerous prophecies.

    • O.T History & its Prophetic Fulfilments for the Last days (7 weeks)

Revealing the prophetic symbols, timelines, and stories of each Old Testament book, these modules will open your understanding of the last day prophecies of Daniel, Revelation, and the New Testament, as revealed in the Old Testament.

    • Practical Ministry (3 weeks)

Instruction and hands-on experience in vital Christian help ministries, such as market ministry, chair massage, and home visitation. Emphasis will be placed on methods and qualifications needed for ministry, and numerous ideas of types of evangelism, and how to conduct them, as outlined in "Christian Service", and "Gospel Workers".

    • Principles of Evangelism (7 weeks)

Ideal for revitalising dead churches, or beginning new ones in unentered territory. Includes ground work, campaign, and follow up work, types of seminars, and you will come away with a series of sermons, a Bible study series, and the tools needed for networking, advertising, budgeting, planning, and executing soul-winning work at the layman's level.

    • Denominational History (2 weeks)

The establishment, growth, present position, and future of the SDA church. What are the evidences of God's guidance from the beginning of the SDA church until now, and what should we, as Seventh-day Adventist Christians, be doing to hasten the Second Coming of Jesus, and put an end to sin and suffering?

    • End-Time Events (2 weeks)

Our understanding of future prophecy and God's protection and planning for the final moments of this earth is made clear, decisive, and decision motivating, in this module. You will know where we are in the line of prophecy, and what steps will be taken from this point until Jesus finishes sin and recreates the heavens and the earth.

    • Principles of Christian Education (4 weeks)

True education is the restoration of the image of God, in the human soul. And Education takes in life skills, character development, social skills, and improving all the talents God has given us to do all within our reach, by God's grace, to accomplish the work that Christ has left us to do. This education is far broader than most realise, but is made practical and useful in this module.

    • Principles of Health Ministry (2 weeks)

Carefully reviewing books such as Ministry of Healing, Counsels on Health, and Medical Ministry, the method, manner, and mission of medical missionary work comes alive. God has given us so much information on what health services to provide the public with, and how to conduct these services in a way that reveals Christ to the world, and invites them to surrender their lives to Christ in full dedication to His calling.

    • Anatomy & Physiology (6 weeks)

College level A comprehensive course of the eleven main systems of the body, including nutrients, and the cell and its functions. Two modules of three weeks each, cover Anatomy and Physiology in detail, leaving the student with enough knowledge to make their ministry practical in understanding the human body and which treatments are the best for each unique situation, and how to use this knowledge to teach the importance of obeying God's health laws, to protect this body God has given each of us.

    • Principles of Self Supporting Ministry (4 weeks)

The Bible and Ellen White provide much detail on self supporting work and its essential role in aiding the church to finish the work God has given us. This class shows how we can work together, as the body of Christ, as an essential part of the Seventh-day Adventist movement, to fill an important place in the work of these last days.
    • Hydrotherapy/ Massage/ Natural Therapy (5 weeks)

Covers a broad range of medical missionary skills such as hydrotherapy, massage, poultices, herbs in rational remedies, charcoal, home remedies, and provides resources for future reference so you can treat most family conditions in the safety of your own home, without danger or fear. Also, this module provides information on how to use these tools to reach souls who are in the valley of decision, and need Christ and salvation.

    • How to study and teach the Bible (4 weeks)

Many people have an idea of what they believe, but few are able to show you from memory, what they believe, from the Bible, on each major doctrine. Seventh-day Adventists have historically been called "a people of the book." This double module will make you a person of the Book of books, the Bible, not only helping you to know your Bible studies well, but to also know how to search for the hidden treasures of the Bible for yourself. Give a man some vegetables, you feed him for a day. Teach a man how to grow his own vegetables, and you feed him for the rest of His life.
